Laptops

Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop, iPod, iPhone, netbook, or any other portable device they wish. Projectors will be available in each room for showing online resources if needed. If you don't have or don't want to bring a laptop, no problem. Some paper and a pencil will do the job just as well.

A limited number of laptops will be available from the NLC. If you don't have your own please contact either Michael or Christa to reserve one.

WiFi

NOTE: UNL users will not be able to get wireless in this manner. You'll either have to use a department computer that has wireless or pay the $6/month fee. You can sign up a laptop on this page by entering your staff blackboard info. 

To get wifi access at UNL, you must register your MAC address. You can find instructions on how to find your MAC address here: How to find your MAC address. Vista users will use the same procedure as XP. (Make sure you get the address of your wireless adapter.)

Now, you need to register your MAC address on the UNL website. Go to this page: http://wireless-reg.unl.edu/ and click on the link under "Visitor Registration." You'll need to fill out the following information:

• First name:          
• Last name:        
• Email:        
• Phone:        
• Place of business:

After "place of business," please add "(Library Camp Nebraska)" so they know what the sudden influx is for. Again, UNL employees will NOT be able to sign up for guest access.

The next page asks for the MAC address you found, enter that (without the dashes), and submit. Keep your MAC address handy (maybe a post it on your computer) in case there are troubles and we have to re-register at the conference.
